For Immediate Release: The Free Advice Project

The Free Advice Project is a vlogumentary by Tanja Barnes featuring videos, quotes, poetry, photographs and other forms of digital media on the subject of free advice.

Through the project Barnes aspires to engage in a conversation with the audience to explore the notion of free advice as well as free information using a the electronic medium of the Internet and by incorporating tools, utilities and social media services that are free to use. She hopes to expand the topic to all things free: freedom of speech, freedom of expression, freedom of information (not to mention free press, free hugs, free love and free lunches).

This project is set to expire on its 100th webisode but it’s possible the project may extended based on feedback received.

The public is wholeheartedly invited to participate in the Free Advice Project by offering up free advice on any subject. Text comments and/or video comments are requested and much appreciated. Some ways you can offer free advice is by sending an e-mail at freeadvice.tumblr@gmail.com

About The Free Advice Project

The Free Advice Project is a study on free culture. The inspiration for the project came from the expression “Information wants to be free” which was coined by Stewart Brand when he spoke at the first Hackers’ Conference in 1984. Flash forward to current day where various tech pundits believe the value of all things digital is trending towards zero, the Free Advice project questions the future profitability of businesses that are founded on freeconomics.
